Overview

We always work to improve experiences with our products. In response to feedback, the KUBRA EZ-PAY team is expanding guest access to payment features and introducing the functionality to control the capabilities of third-party session recordings. These features are all optional and won’t be available unless you request a specific feature.

The highlights of the release are as follows:

Guest payment features

  • Bill View
  • AutoPay
  • PayByText

Security for session recordings

Please note: Clients must complete the migration to v5.1 before they can implement these features.

Guest Payment Enhancements

Guest payment features are available to consumers making a one-time payment and do not require a KUBRA EZ-PAY enrolled account.  

There has been an increasing demand for payment features from guests who don’t wish to create a KUBRA EZ-PAY account but still want added payment flexibility. With this release, we are happy to announce KUBRA EZ-PAY guest access to the following payment features that previously were only available to those with enrolled KUBRA EZ-PAY accounts.

Bill View

With Bill View enabled, guests can view their recent bill from the Account Overview page upon account validation. 

Bill view is available only after the account has been validated.

Please note: In order to support this feature, you will need to be able to load bills into the KUBRA iDoxs Platform.

AutoPay 

With AutoPay enabled, guests are presented with the option, after a successful payment, to set up automatic payments (AutoPay) for future bills. When you load a bill file with KUBRA, consumers who have this feature activated will have their bill paid automatically by KUBRA EZ-PAY. 

AutoPay is only offered after a successful payment.


Please note:

  • Guests will have the option to set a maximum payment threshold.  
  • KUBRA EZ-PAY will use the payment method that was used to make the recent successful payment.
  • Guests can easily deactivate AutoPay from the Account Overview page.

PayByText 

With PayByText enabled, guests are presented with the option, after a successful payment, to pay future bills through text. After activating this feature, the guest will be sent a text when a new bill is due. They can easily respond to the message to make a payment using the payment method included during activation.

PayByText is offered only after a successful payment.

Consumers are notified of a new bill and can quickly make a payment — all through text.

Please note:

  • Guests will need to validate their mobile phone number.  
  • KUBRA EZ-PAY will use the payment method that was used to make the recent successful payment.
  • Guests can easily deactivate PayByText from the Account Overview page.

Session Recording Controller

If you use a third-party component to execute session recording tasks, the standard KUBRA EZ-PAY flow has been updated to send a masking signal to this recording software when a caller enters a payment account number (PAN), so the sensitive information can’t be recorded by third parties.

Release Dates

The KUBRA EZ-PAY feature release dates are as follows:

  • Bill View — Immediately
  • AutoPay — April 18, 2021
  • PayByText — April 18, 2021
  • Session Recording Controller — Immediately
