Overview
In response to feedback and the goal of offering the best experience possible, the KUBRA iMail team is releasing several Document Template Manager (DTM) enhancements.
As a refresher, the DTM application allows our clients to build, edit, and release data-driven, dynamic, document-based applications for print production in a self-service environment. You can create your own document templates that include dynamic data fields, a variety of font types and styles, embedded graphics, and PDF attachments, all available on the web in a simple and intuitive environment.
Demonstration
KUBRA U will be hosting an introductory webinar to review and demonstrate the DTM enhancements in this release. If you cannot attend the live session, please still register as a recording will be made available afterwards.
Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET
Release Dates
All DTM enhancements in this release are in effect in all environments as of today, April 21, 2021.
Enhancements
With this release, we are introducing the following DTM enhancements:
- Retail Cash Payment (RCP) barcode
- Field and content search functionality
- Message block samples
- Fixed pages for PDFs
- New Bottom Address Letter template
- Background image support
RCP Barcode
With this release, RCP barcodes may be added directly into the templates for DTM. The RCP barcode acts as an EZ-Payslip for customers who wish to pay their bill with cash at a supported retail location.
Field and Content Search Functionality
With this release, field and content search functionality have been introduced so users working in the template or message block editors can find specific content (such as fields, message blocks, PDFs, or images).
Message Block Samples
With this release, users can view samples of how a message block would look in templates it is used. Once a message block has been designed and added to one or several templates, samples can be rendered from the message block editor to produce one sample of each template that contains the message block in a combined PDF.
Please note: If the message block has not been associated with any templates, the rendered samples will be blank.
Fixed Pages for PDFs
Previously, PDFs could be added to templates within the content of the template or set to render only on the back of a page for duplex documents.
With this release, a PDF can be assigned to render on a specific page of a template. Regardless of the placement of the PDF within the template, if the fixed page is set, the PDF will be rendered on the specified page (e.g., if the page is set to 2, the PDF will always be printed on page 2). This can be accomplished when a PDF is associated with a template, so the fixed page can be different between templates.
Bottom Address Letter Template
With this release, a new version of the Bottom Address Letter template type has been introduced, with a slightly different layout. Users now have four options of base templates to choose from.
Background Image Support
Previously, background image support was available to simulate preprinted paper in electronic formats, so the printed document resembled the electronic document.
This functionality has been extended to allow the application of background/letterhead images to print files in addition to electronic documents. All files or specific files can be set up to include the Print Paper Overlay. This feature may be useful for clients who would like to eliminate the use of preprinted paper and move to more cost-effective, full-color printing.
